Grayton Beach Florida recently celebrated it 110th birthday and is the oldest 30A beach town. Settled originally in the late 1800′s the area is named for Charles Gray, and Army major who built his family home here in 1885.
Until the early 1900′s Grayton Beach was little more than sand and sea. Then the Butler Family focused its attention on the area and determined to create a resort community.
Still a unique 30A small town, Grayton Beach carries much of its early charm through to today with a variety of specialty shops, a small downtown area and several inns and dining options.
Grayton Beach on 30A has arguably some of the best unspoiled beaches in all of Florida. That along with Western Lake make this a wonderful area for either a Family vacation or an adventurous kayak trip.
